This hotel shows signs of it's age but still comfortable. The main reason I have given 4 stars is the staff. I am always looking for extraordinary customer service and they delivered. It was an unexpected stay so I did not have some of the things I would normally bring, including a fan. I always sleep with a fan. The hotel manager was kind enough to loan me hers from her office for the duration of my stay. This is the sort of customer service that i love getting. It may seem trivial but it made my stay much better.
Sadly the photos shared for the hotel are from years past. The carpeting is stained, holes in walls, doors not replaced on closets, stains all over the office chair, the ceiling had been patched along with the hot tub. The staff are kind, and they promote the amenities. The breakfast was an hour late. We asked the staff about safety in the area. They responded there are cameras around the building. Thankfully a current extended stay mentioned we should remove everything from the car. Theirs had been broken into twice.
Do not stay here!!!! We booked it on the way through town for a night and we ended up getting a new hotel because we just couldn’t stay here. The lock was broken off the door, there was pet hair all over the bed comforter, the room was directly connected to the pool with no deadbolt on the door and people screaming in there until 10:00. The back door to the outside didn’t require a key so anyone could come in and out. The staff was nice, but we just couldn’t bring ourselves to stay here for even 10 hours.
The shower barely worked, there was no plug for the tub, so you couldn't bathe either. The entire floor reeked of pot, which I believe is everyone's personal coice, but this is supposed to be a no- smoking facility. I smoked my cigarette outside. My house had caught on fire so I needed somewhere to stay for the weekend. I stayed for two nights, asked to stay for a third night, and when I tried to pay cash I was told there would be an additional $100 deposit. I told the woman at the front desk I was just going to run to my bank and deposit some money into my account and I could put it on my debit card. She said there was no problem, as this was well before check-out time. She told me I'd need to change rooms when I returned, as my room had been reserved (?). I said that was fine. When I returned from the bank, less than twenty minutes later, I was told I couldn't stay there another night. No explanation, she just said upper management wouldn't extend my stay. If I had been an unruly, messy, loud or whiny patron, I would get it. But I was quiet, used the facility only to sleep, and am confused and insulted that this sub-par establishment would deem me an unworthy patron. I do feel blessed that the Hampton Inn had an opening, a friendly staff, smelled clean and fresh and was far superior in everyway. I would suggest avoiding the Clarion at all cost, unless you find yourself in an emergency situation, like I was. And even then, take sanitizer and don't expect any compassion.
The room was nice and the staff was outstanding but....... I was put in a pool side room and I couldn't get to sleep before 10pm. I start driving at 2:30am. It wasn't good at all.
